Ian studied acting at Northampton University, where  he developed his skills in different forms of performance such as physical theatre, mask work and ethnic musicology.  Whilst studying he was given the opportunity to perform in his first professional production, Orpheus in the Underworld, at the Derngate Theatre, which  later toured to Leicester and Derby. After this he took on the role of lead production vocalist for Leisure Great Britain's holiday park in St. Margaret's, Kent.

In 2000 Ian returned to his training, attending the Guildford School of Acting, studying musical theatre on their postgraduate course.  Here he was able to develop his skills and had the opportunity to perform at Guildford's two leading theatres, The Yvonne Arnaud and The Electric Theatre.

Since graduating Ian has performed all over the country and has toured Italy in a new musical version of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.  He was most recently seen performing as a fighter at the Royal Opera House in their production of Romeo et Juliette with Alfie Boe.
